"1922" by Stephen King is a short novel of suspense that is about the Wilfred James' confession of the murder of his woman Arlette aside with implication of his son Henry. Wilfred before committing the murder of his woman, said that there's another man inside of every man, a stranger, a conniving man. But Stephen King left certain indications of that maybe this is not true, it's possible that the conniving man was a invention of Wilfred to not have remorse of the murder. Along with this text are going to be shown all the evidence that supports the claim of the title.

According to the dictionary of the Spanish language, the "conniving" is "A man that machinate, conspire and scheme" at the start of story, it may seem that Willfred matches in this description by manipulating his son to commit the murder, but this is debunked in and after the murder, because Wilfred admitted that these were nothing more than 'half-plans'—mere fantasies of the outcome he desired, not true plans. This is seen in the murder of Arlette that was mean to be quick and painless but ended up being erratic and very painful for Arlette and mentally devastating for Henry.

Another point to have in consideration is his existence is contradicted in certain parts like for example, Wilfred says that the conniving man dies on page 22 but reappear on page 70. The theory is reaffirmed in posterior chapters when Wilfred starts to show shame and regret for the murder of Arlette and the change of Henry.

The last evidence of this claim is the mention of the hopeful man inside the conniving man. Wilfred had the hope that Henry turned back or Arlette awaked because he didn't want to kill Arlette contradicting the intention of the conniving man.

Wilfred wasn't the conniving man, but he wasn't wrong in all when he says "inside of every man there's another man, a conniving man". "1922" de Stephen King es una novela corta de suspenso que trata de la confesión de Wilfred James del asesinato de su mujer Arlette junto con la implicación de su hijo Henry. Wilfre antes de cometer el asesinato de su mujer dice que dentro de todo hombre hay otro hombre, un hombre maquinador. Pero Stephen King deja ciertos indicios de que tal vez esto no es cierto, es posible que el hombre maquinador sea otra faceta de Wilfred para no tener remordimientos del asesinato. A lo largo de este texto se mostrarán todos los indicios de esta afirmación.

Según el diccionario de la lengua española el maquinador es “Un hombre que máquina, confabula y conspira” al principio de la historia puede parecer que Wilfred encaja en esta descripción al manipular a su hijo para cometer el asesinato, pero esto es desmentido durante y después de este, pues Wilfred confiesa que sus planes estos eran “medios planes” más parecidos a fantasías de como quería que se pareciera que a planes bien hechos, esto se ve en el asesinato de Arlette que tenía que ser rápido e indoloro pero que termino siendo errático y muy doloroso para Arlette y mentalmente devastador para Henry esto los obliga a actuar rápido para esconder el cuerpo.

Otro punto a tener en cuenta es su existencia se contradise en ciertas partes como por ejemplo Wilfred dice que el hombre maquinador murio en la pagina 22 pero reaparece en la pagina 70. La teoria se reafirma en capítulos posteriores cuando Wilfred empieza a mostrar culpa y remordimiento por el asesinato de Arlette y lamenta el cambio de Henry.

La ultima evidencia de la aclamacion es la mención del hombre esperanzado dentro del hombre maquinador. Wilfred tenia la esperanza de que Henry se arrepintiera o que Arlette se despertara por que el realmente no queria matar a Arlette contradiciendo la intencion del hombre maquinador.

Wilfred es no el hombre maquinador pero no se equivocava del todo cuando decia "dentro de todo hombre hay otro hombre, un hombre maquinador." Henry despues del asesinato paso a llamarse Hank y cambio su aptituc docil y religiosa por una violenta y rebelde. Confabulando y planeando como iba a sacar a Shannon del hogar catolico. Hank es el hombre maquinador.
